Dear Patient,

We are very excited to inform you of the planned relocation of Didsbury Medical Centre from 645 Wilmslow Road, M20 6BA to a new, purpose-built healthcare facility at 1 The Avenue, M20 2ER, opening on 8th June 2026. The new premises is under development, and your appointments will continue at 645 Wilmslow Road until 5th June 2026.

This move represents a long-awaited and important investment in local primary care services. Our current premises have been operating beyond capacity for many years, which has limited our ability to respond fully to increasing patient demand and evolving clinical needs. The new building will allow us to provide safer, more accessible, and more sustainable care for both our existing patients and those who may join the practice in the future.

We are particularly excited about the opportunities the new premises will bring for our community, including:

  • More clinical rooms and increased appointment availability
  • Improved patient flow and easier access within the building
  • Modern facilities designed to support people with disabilities and additional needs
  • On-site parking
  • Space to grow services and support additional local employment opportunities

We recognise that the new site is approximately one mile from our current location. However, it remains well connected by local transport links. We are committed to working closely with community partners, to support patients in accessing the surgery and to explore opportunities to further improve public transport connections to the practice and key local services.

Our entire team is incredibly positive about this move and the difference it will make to the quality and accessibility of care we can provide. We believe this relocation is a vital step forward in improving health services for our community, reducing inequalities, and investing in modern healthcare infrastructure for the future.
