LGBT+ and cancer screening

Cancer screening plays a crucial role in the early detection and diagnosis of cancers, and it can even aid in their prevention. However, LGBTQ+ individuals often face unique barriers that complicate the screening process. These challenges may include a lack of information regarding eligibility for screenings, insufficient invitations to participate, and experiences of gender dysphoria.

Didsbury Medical Centre want to make sure that our patients who are part of the LGBT+ community feel safe and comfortable to attend screening programmes.

We run our own LGBTQ+ Cervical Screening clinics, for more information please see – LGBTQ+ Cervical Screening Page

Please see our page focused on Prostate cancer and Trans Women for useful information
